Fuel & Biofuel

From the AvalonEarth Wiki

Anything that "runs" on this server — Trade Servers, rockets, Supply Pods, Command Stations — runs on fuel. There are two ways to produce it: the Fuel Generator (tier 1), which crafts Fuel Buckets, and the Biofuel Generator (tier 2), which ferments organic matter straight onto the fuel pipe network. Fuel and Biofuel buckets remain interchangeable wherever buckets are used.

Fuel Generator

The Fuel Generator turns Coal + Netherite into Fuel Buckets. Place it like a normal block and right-click to open the GUI:

Top slot

Netherite Ingot — consumed per cycle.

Middle slot

Coal — fuels the cycle.

Bottom slot

Fuel output — a Fuel bucket appears here when a cycle finishes.

Each cycle takes a short while (like a slow furnace). See the Recipes page to craft the generator.

Biofuel Generator

The Biofuel Generator ferments organic matter plus a catalyst into fuel and pumps it straight onto the fuel pipe network. It is a fuel source, just like the Oil Refinery, but burns organic matter instead of oil. Wire a Fluid Pipe from it to a Fuel Storage; each completed cycle deposits fuel units into the connected pool, which combustion generators, rocket pads and command stations then draw from. It only runs while a connected fuel store has room.

It renders as a dedicated machine model — the interactable smoker block sits behind the model.

The Biofuel Generator no longer produces a Biofuel Bucket item — its output goes entirely into pipes.

This is a tier-2 item: your Towny town must research it through Investigation before you can place one.

Organic input

Accepts a configurable list: wheat, wheat seeds, sugar cane, kelp, dried kelp, melon slice, pumpkin, carrot, potato, beetroot, apple, bread, rotten flesh, oak & other saplings, etc.

Catalyst input

Default catalyst is Bone Meal.

Status panes

A read-only fuel-network indicator shows the connected pool's fill, "Fuel storage full", or "No fuel storage connected". A progress pane shows Fermenting… % / Idle.

Per cycle the generator consumes its configured amount of organic matter and catalyst (default 64 organic + 4 catalyst) and pumps fuel-per-cycle fuel units (default 50) into the connected fuel network. Closing the GUI returns any items left in the slots to your inventory.
