Company Types

From the AvalonEarth Wiki

Every company picks exactly one of seven types when it is founded. The type decides what you sell and how you earn. Building, Mercenary, Logistics and Hitman sell through the service browser; Trading, Electric and Oil are passive-income types that earn through placed machines instead.

Building

You sell pre-made structures. Save templates of builds you've designed, list them with a price, category and description, and other companies can commission them.

How a sale works

  1. A buyer browses Services → Building and picks one of your templates.
  2. A contract is created.
  3. Half the price is paid up front. The other half is held.
  4. You build or place the requested structure.
  5. Completing the contract releases the held half.

Mercenary

You sell armed help. Your company has a pool of mercenaries. Managers can raise or lower the total pool, and contracts reserve free mercenaries while the job is active.

How a sale works

  1. A buyer browses Services → Mercenary and requests a count.
  2. If you have enough free mercenaries, a contract is created.
  3. Half is paid up front and half is held.
  4. The requested mercenaries stop counting as free until the job closes.
  5. Completing the contract releases the held half.

Trading

Trading companies make passive income with Trade Servers — crafted items you place in the world and maintain with electricity, coolant and repairs. See Trade Servers.

Trading companies level up through server production XP. Higher level = more concurrent Trade Servers (Level 1 = 1 server, Level 10 = 10 servers).

Trading companies do not sell external services in the service browser.

Logistics

You sell deliveries. Buyers choose an item category, item, quantity, price and optional note. Your company collects the requested items and deposits them into the delivery GUI.

How a sale works

  1. Buyer: Services → Logistics → category → item → quantity → note.
  2. A contract is created with the same up-front/held payment split.
  3. Your members deposit the requested items into the delivery GUI.
  4. Once fully delivered, the held funds release automatically.
  5. The buyer claims the delivered items from My Deliveries.

Categories: building blocks, decorations, redstone, transportation, misc, food, tools, combat and brewing.

Hitman

You take out contracts on players. A buyer names a target and a bounty; your company carries out the hit by killing that target.

How a sale works

  1. A buyer browses Services → Hitman and types <target>;<bounty>;<reason>.
  2. A contract is created with the usual up-front/held payment split.
  3. A manager accepts the hit from Pending Contracts.
  4. When any company member kills the named target, the contract completes automatically and the held bounty is released to the company bank.
  5. There is no manual "confirm completion" step — only the kill closes it.

A hit only pays out after the company has accepted it; a kill while the contract is still pending does not count. The company's confirmed-kill count is shown in Hitman Management.

Electric

Electric companies sell electricity on the server-wide commodity market. They build out a power grid, store surplus electricity in Power Cells, and list it for sale through an Electric Market Distributor.

How it works

  1. Build generators and Power Cells and wire them with electric cable.
  2. Place an Electric Market Distributor and connect it to that storage.
  3. The distributor's owner must be in an Electric company.
  4. Right-click the distributor, click the price slot, and type a unit price in chat (a price of 0 disables the listing).
  5. Your stored electricity is now listed on the global market; buyers pull it out with a Market Buyer and the income flows to you.

Oil

Oil companies are the petroleum counterpart of Electric companies. They pump crude oil from oil fields, hold it in Oil Storage, and sell it through an Oil Market Distributor (owner must be in an Oil company).

How it works

  1. Pump and store oil with the oil chain.
  2. Place an Oil Market Distributor connected to your Oil Storage.
  3. Set a unit price the same way as the electricity market (0 disables it).
  4. Buyers collect oil through a Market Buyer, and the income flows to you.

Buying side (any player): a Market Buyer machine purchases electricity and/or oil from the global market and unloads it into your connected storage over time.
